I am pretty sure about all of us are saying 2020…. THANK GOD THATS OVER! And while I would have to agree that 2020 was a craptastic year (and it was) there are some things that I am truly grateful for.
The first is the time I was able to be home with my kids during the beginning of the pandemic. I was somewhere in between “I really want to be a stay at home mom” and “I really want to move ahead in my career”. Needless to say I was able to stay at home for 3 months (while working from home which I do NOT recommend with an 11 month old and 2 year old….. it is REALLY REALLY HARD!) it allowed me to bond with them and have time with them that I would never have been able to have had we not been allowed to work from home for that time. It also made me realize that I was not going anywhere at all at my current job (believe it or not because I HAVE KIDS is what I was told….. insert sad face here: ). This past year has allowed me to see things and have a much deeper perspective on where I want to be as well as where I want to go, and for that I am FOREVER thankful for.
2020 was a time for personal reflection and growth, something I have never really had the opportunity to do before. Actually, I can’t really say that never personally had growth or took time to reflect on me, rather I never took the time to establish what I was doing right. This year, 2021 I will try to get it right. I will continue to grow, and stop to think about what’s best for others as well as myself.
This year will be my year where I cry a little less, laugh a little more a hug a little harder and snuggle a whole lot more. Here is to wishing you all the best that 2021 has to offer!
